Super Sunday

So I really want to get into this whole blog thing... but I can't get over the fact that I don't have a camera.. I keep thinking, "what's the point of having a blog, if I can't even post anything to it?" But then I realized, this is supposed to be a place for me to harness my inspiration and define my idea of awesome, I shouldn't just be posting the things I make and the things I do, but also things that I love, things that drive me forward and keep me smiling when all I want to do is crawl up in bed and die.
Without further adieu, my beautiful findings from around teh netzz:

Even More Christmas Crafting!

So I've gotten a little further on in my Christmas crafts, and I'm actually getting excited about giving out homemade prezzies... It feels like a more personal gift, and it's really fun. :)

I absolutely love these reusable cotton pads from Alli-Crafts http://allicrafts.blogspot.com  to add to the gifts for the ladies on my list

Such a good idea! And good for the environment too. I even made cute little bags out of muslin, tulle ribbon and gift ribbon to put them in! So excited.
I'm also working on personalized slippers and I need something else too.
I also found a great DIY for envelope clutches on http://www.swellmayde.com/2011/03/diy-envelope-clutch.html and I'm excited to try it out for a kindle cover!

{Like this but smaller <3 }

Also: I'm really tempted to try making homemade body scrubs. I see tutorials EVERYWHERE and they seem so simple... And cute!

Christmas time!

I love Christmas time for many reasons. The excuse to listen to Christmas music, the scent of fresh baked goods, the lights that make the night time so much more cheery, but most of all, I love that it encourages all of us DIYers to get our butts to work. As I'm currently a full time student, buying everybody presents just isn't an option.. but that doesn't matter because, done right, homemade presents are much cooler presents.
Merry Christmas Pictures, Images and Photos

I have 6 nieces and nephews now (2 are mine, the other 4 are my man's) and so for each of them I'm creating individually unique crocheted hats to match their loves and personalities.

E is 4 and is OBSESSED with the powerpuff girls (thanks to youtube.. I don't think it plays on TV anymore), so for her I plan to make a Bubbles hat (She's the little blonde character)

T is E's little brother and he's such a little tyrant. For him I hope to make a little crocheted viking hat as it will just suit his personality perfect.

Z is my man's oldest neice. She's an adorable and sweet little girl and absolutely loves Elmo. For her an Elmo hat will be made, hopefully with long loops to imitate his furry face.

S is just over 1 and is such a little monkey, so naturally, a crocheted sock monkey toque is the only option for him.

There are also two babies, little A is the first, who is about 3 months old and Z's little sister. As she is so little and hasn't developed interests as much as her cousins, a little strawberry toque will be perfect.
The last little one is P. P was born six weeks early and is still in the hospital (after a month) but is getting better and they hope to bring her home within the next week. She is especially tiny and so I think I will make a little mini beanie with button flowers because she is just cute as a button.

So far I've only made the Sock Monkey hat:
{Sorry about the lame webcam pic... I want a camera for Christmas so we'll see!!}

Update: I did get a camera! E and T's hats!
